Technology and environment

In this article I will talk about the different problems that have been generated around the world regard the environment, which have been getting worse over the years. In order to this, the article will be divided into four parts, the first introducing environmental damage, the second relating technology to the same, the third making especially emphasis in the smartphone industry, and the fourth referring to the benefits of technology. It is thus that we will first begin by giving a summary of the selected article on which it is based, called "Technology and the environment", and will end by demonstrating the opinions and solutions to the conflict.

 Each time, technology is becoming more important in our daily activities, constantly evolving in factors such as communication, health, among others. Thereby, it is through this, that we have been able to facilitate our concerns and difficulties. However, as it can bring benefits, it can also bring bad consequences as much in the social sphere as in the environmental, reaching a point where we have become totally dependent on it. Relating technology with the damage to the environment, it can be said that from the extraction of materials and their transformation, pollution is generated by not taking care about the industries with the residues they produce and with the resources they use, since these are difficult to eliminate as well as degrade. Some of the problems that could be produced as a result of this are desertification, increased energy consumption and therefore the amount of gases present in the atmosphere and the known greenhouse effect. In relation to the smartphone industry, it has been shown that they emit a strong radiation in the environment affecting it negatively, being composed of heavy materials such as lead, iron, lithium, carbon, among others. Nowadays, the average consumer uses his telephone for less than a year, period in which it spends an energy equivalent to 32 gallons of gas and emits 113 Ks of CO2. Likewise, 140 million of those cell phones end up in a rubbish tip, releasing 80,000 pounds of lead into the subsoil. On the other hand, referring to the benefits that technology can bring, and taking into account what it has done for man, we need the control we can have over it and the use we can give to it. Even though this can help us to realise our duties, it can also damage the environment. Therefore, cars with solar energy, mobile devices with shells less harmful to the environment, cars that run with air, among others, must be implemented in society, and equally, should be used carefully.

In my opinion the environment is a problem that has been generated from the beginning, when  humans decided to make use of technology and industry for their own benefit and the obtaining of consumer goods. So, over the years, this has been evolving more and more at the time that we become dependent on it. The technology was born with the purpose of make it easier certain activities that human found difficult to perform, but, being more influenced by this and not knowing control it, we have let us take advantage of it and we have forgotten what is what really matters. We have reached such a point that the only thing we care about is having a technological device near us, not even for our own benefit, but for fashion, because we feel that we die if we don’t have one, because we are ashamed. However, the reality is that we don’t take into account the damage that this can cause in nature, which, every time produces less when it faced with phenomena such as deforestation, the extinction of plants, among others. That is why I think that technology using in the way we are doing cause more harm than good, but if we learn to use it in the right way, we could also use it to help save the environment.

 Finally, I think that the possible solutions that it can be given to solve this problem is the correct use of technology, the care of the industries when they are transforming the raw material, as well as throw away an electronic device, and the reduction of gases such as carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, which spoil the ozone layer. As I had said earlier, energy - saving machines must be introduced into the society and we have to learn that technology is not the most important, but also the environment it is.

 In conclusion, the world is being affected by  technology positively as well as negatively, given that, despite this tool is of due importance to humans to help him to perfom certain activities that are difficult, humans don't know how to control it becoming increasingly dependent on this and at the same timemore useless. That is why the environment is being affected by technology, because in generating it, we are not taking into account the amount of resources we have to spend or how much  it mistreat nature.

• Raw material: Material before being processed into a final form in the industries.

According to ex-employees Twitter is unable to stop harassment

In this article I will speak about the harassment that often gives in Internet specifically in Twitter's social network, founded 10 years ago, according to the article published by BuzzFeed, and what has made it´s boards and employees to stop it. This published article, was done by the testimonies of some of the employees who were working at this social network, which with their long descriptions explain which are the conditions of it and why several attempts that they have done to stop this crime have failed. Having known this, immediately Twitter answered to the report saying that what was announced in the article was not true at the time that published an image of what would be false in this social network. In agreement with the report in discussion, Twitter has turned into an insecure space where the women and the persons of color are victims of the misogynists and racists. Besides it, according to the testimonies of the ex employeers, the social network has not strained for stopping the problems of harassment considering they are in a question of internal organization and have not had any action plan in concretly. Some of the cases of harassment that have been presented in this social network are: The big wave of critiques, racist comments and threaten of death that the recognized actress Leslie Jones received a few weeks ago and, also, the singer Normani Kordei who decided to move back from this one due to the continuous racist hassles that she received for a long time. Later, a writer published 157 examples of misogyny, gender´s insults, among others cases of abuse that has been produced in Twitter, reason for which, the feature published says that inspide of the many things that the directives have done in this social network the Trolls continue wining. "The intention of provide a free expression space performed great importance for Twitter´s rise", says the article, "but it was itself what caused that the differents harassments gived place in this social network, unlike facebook or instagram which always have worried for censuring contents and have nerver recognize themself as way of free expression". Much of the previous workers of this company think that one of the posible causes of the harassment that present in Twitter, is because of the standstill which many production´s groups have of this just like the different sistem that have for the rest of the social networks, considering, on having published a comment you don´t have the possibility of correcting it as it is in Facebook. Also, one of the ex employeers engineer, affirmed that whenever he proposed a solution to the problem other colleague of the work were opposed and that what they wanted was to implant a filter that identify offensive´s tuits from key words. Nonetheless and in spite of this, the indicated system might not work since this one would not be current nor accurate, for which finally they wouldn´t obtain anything. The report says that it is already late in order that Twitter implements an effective solution that puts end to the problem, but that  nevertheless, it is a need of due urgency for the users. According to the company they are doing the possible things for stopping this problem and already many advances have been achieved for the ISIS's presence in Twitter.

In 2015, Twitter showed the information of its last fiscal quarter corresponding to October, November and December of the same year, which were the most important quarterly results of its history. Meanwhile they were expecting to have a rise of 3 million users, they lost 2 millions remaining with a number of 305 millions, in addition, apart from the already mentioned, a study realized by a Britich study´s group called "Demos", revealed worrying numbers of abuse towards the women, reaching this way 200.000 aggressive tuits. Some of the possible reasons that can generate the harassment across the social networks are:

• Conduct Forces: This one every time increases more and more, and it can be given in environments like the house, the college or other spaces, which at the same time can produce more violence 
• Stress: Whenever we realize some activity with many pressure on us we provoke a mood of high irritability and aggressiveness in ourself, vent it this way in those that turn out to be more defenseless.
• Lack of attention: In many occasions the violent conducts are related to the lack of love, support and attention from the part of the relatives who really never worry for the good development of these children
• Ambition: Many times, the persons who harass or irritate others and lead someone in a violent way, seek to have more power and recognition of which already they have, causing fear  in many people

Which are the possible solutions that must be keep in mind to put end to the problem, it is what we all must wonder. One of these might be the protection of personal information, the good managament of the social networks and the control of the companies and of all the responsible systems to guarantee the protection to the persons.

In my opinion, not only they must be the companies those that must have control of the networks or everything which people publish in them, but also the people must take responsibility of the managing of these ones, since, to accept or follow unknown people they are risking being victims of harassment. Nowadays I think that the social networks have taken very much impulse, as it is Twitter, but they should take advantage better on it in a correct way. Many of the victims can or cannot be responsible for this and nevertheless, they should have more prudence, maturity and seriousness, since, to the first sign of harassment they should warn immediately.

The quandary of the artificial intelligence

The artificial intelligence already is achieving that the computers could make things that before were preserved for humans like identify the persons in the photos or things for the style, nevertheless the same benefits can lead us to raising serious problems.  The software is a program which is designed either to follow simple instructions or complex instructions with many or little ways depending of what it should do, considering that, in this way it is that the electronic devices and the whole technology that we have nowadays works. Nevertheless and in spite of this, the model of programming which constitued them was not enough, since these could not realize things that were needing of mental complex processes on account to the fact that the algorithm that constitutes them would have to be of an unattainable complexity. It is for this, that big specialists at intelligence are employed in elaborating computer systems that allows them to become until there, even being more difficult than teach them to learn. Different technologies are applied to train to the computers, these are recognized as " learning machine ", and this might be the key of the functioning of many electronic devices in a future, that is why of the same way is important. . The objetive of the " learning of machine ", is to achieve that the software programmed itself as long as to elaborate an algorithm to identify a person can turn out to be difficult enough and complex, however, to do that this works needs of several practices turning this way into a process chain that fulfill the target. In this point the development is not anymore called " "programming" but "practise", the machine tries to give a correct answer and if it fault is the trainer who must indicate it, the more this repeats itself, the better they will be the results but in addition, it will need of a lot of information that it is where the worries begin. When a program is learning to respond, it has to read many e-mails, or photos or others, since, while more information reads better they will be its results. The incitement is there, this information corresponds to the users who use the different applications or social networks of the technology, it is for this that to do artificial intelligence implies interyielding in the privacy of the beneficiaries.  But, all that to what price, if they were managing to assemble all the consciences in just one "brain", this one might know everything about us in such a way that the privacy would stop existing. The chief of Google Photos's product, assured that this system is sure since they do not allow that any human see the photos that are stored in this program, nevertheless the question that  we can do to is, how are they sure of the fact that none of his employees break the rules?. Certainly there are different solutions to solve this problem, like for example, not to process the information of the users in external servants but in the same devices which limits very much the possibilities of the technology, since to being the information of an alone user it is not so efficient, another of a lot of importance it might be anonimase the information of the persons since hereby it would be more difficult to identify her. The problem with the latter, is that as well as there is a process of elaborating a thing, also there is the possibility of undoing it, with which, someone might come to desanonimate them. The last alternative would be to use the information of these people in order that nobody could identify them, for this they might use many technologies as the noise, the limitation of information sent to every servant, between many other options.This idea already wants to start using Apple, and though many experts of the computer science are not agree with that this works, it might be the overcoming of the principal ethical reef.
The artificial intelligence is a technological advance that allows to the human to perform of  a more efficient way than the one it does it. This goes beyond the technological innovation and industry, since these were designed to correct the mistakes that we, the humans, commit and that we are not capable of solving. Today, our society is in an epoch in which the physical and mental work is getting lost since this one, is being replaced by the thinking machines. Its function, more than everything is to facilitate us the work, is a branch of the current knowledge that is had not only of the computer science, but of everything what surrounds us, and, as well as it can bring benefits for the human also it can bring disadvantages. We can see these last mentioned undoubtedly very daily without realizing, since the artificial intelligence is not only in the flying cars and other things of this type, but in addition also it is in some of the things that we use every day, as for example the programming of the irrigation´s system, the control of the condition of lights, between others. What most of the people doesn´t know is that as well as this can help us to improve the world, also it can worsen it, since on having been replacing the human activities we become un-thinking and useless, why to do something, when other person or in this case machine, can do it for us? This one is the problem of the technology, which even can manage to replace us without realizing, and in a future we will not exist enymore, cause only there will exist machines that design other machines and so on. At the same way, this might affect the labor activities, increasing on this way the unemployment and diminishing the demand of specialized workforce. Already there is had estimated that for 2042, foresees an automation of 80 % in all the economic and social sectors, worldwide. To be able to understand  it on a better way, some of the consequences that can manage to be given from this great quandary, either being good or bad are:

• Happiness and safety to the population of our planet: These machines will make us everything what we don´t want to do eliminating on this way the material worries
• Increase of the unemployment in many sectors of the labor activities: The robots will do everything what we ask them to do including the duties of the house
• The unfunctioning of the brain and for so the probability of becoming increasingly useless: The humans will not have the need to continue thinking and worry for what we must do or not since they will be the machines those that will do it for us and in case of not knowing anything it is their assignment to do it or to tell us what we must do 

Different problems can generate from the branch of the technology that as well as it can help us it can destroy us, but though we need it and could put us in risk, there are also  several solutions that can help us to remedy this problem without necessarily the technology disappears. One of the possible solutions that can give to this problem is, the limitation of manufacture of machines as well as its utilization, since hereby, the humans would not have to be replaced by the technology and this one would not have to disappear.

In my opinion, the technology is something that nowadays we, the human beings, need more that quite as a way of survival, because of her we can acquire explicit information to realize an activity, eliminate the poverty, solve doubts and questions, between others, but also I think that it is turning into a problem that possibly overcomes us in a future. The unemployment might manage to be a super serious consequence generated by this one as well as the not utilization of the rationality for the part of the human being and the destruction of the nature. It is for this that I think that a solution that I would propose, would be the limited and suitable utilization of the technology since hereby we do not become so dependent on her, the restriction of the manufacture of machines, between different many any more.

In this article I will talk about the use of technology as a tool of improvement for the companies, in agreement to the report published by magazine ENTER.CO since, in acordance with this, it is by the previous one that can obtain the opportunity that your projects being more competitive and in the same way more productive.

One of the Colombian companies recently rewarded in the WITSA awards, Digital Ware, insists on understand in what way technology can contribute to the administration of organizations by human being. In my opinion, due to the root of the time the man have been modernized and absence of new tools which help them to make certain activities and investigate certain problems, it is necessary to make use of technology in cooperation with the business and projects. This may afford more efficacy, productivity and raising in the education and the cities, such as could promote the commercial and industrial development. Nevertheless, I think that in the company this instrument or benefit is an evil used and failed to take advantage by the people who arrange it, until there comes a point in which this one would have to be almost eradicated.

Though this serves us for communication, production of indispensable utensils in our daily life and any type of labor humanizes, it might be big enough for the insecurity of the population, environmental pollution, addiction to these ones, lack of privacy, between others. It is for this that I think that though it is necessary, we must give them a correct  use to achieve a healthy environment between the technology, companies and the same population, since this one can bring with it both advantages and disadvantages that might be eliminated if we learn to use it.
